Making sense of large deliveries
Having no experience in something is a daunting task to say the least, even with seasoned professionals when the task in hand becomes so great it starts to get overwhelming. My background in transport and logistics has given me some excellent coping strategies with large deliveries which can be crossed over to your Kleeneze business. On the video below you will get a great overview on how to tackle large deliveries saving you time and money in the long run.
1. Firstly unpack all of your products placing them in some sort of order, we usually find that it is best to keep all products together in generics, kitchen, bathroom, liquids and polishes, containers, boxed items etc. This will make your goods easier to find when you come to the customer order forms.
2. Use the box lids to put your packed products in. Label these box lids 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C. (Whatever you fancy on this one).
3. On a separate piece of paper, this will be your delivery list, write the corresponding box numbers down.
4. Now on to your customer orders, pack each individual order and on completion of packing write the address down on your list under the box number you are placing the order in. It is best to try and keep your orders in close proximity, (address wise) to each other in relation to which box you are putting your orders in.
5. Continue until all customer orders have been packed and placed in their appropriate boxes.
6. You will end up with a delivery list and full boxes. If you have packed the boxes from the rear to the front, the top of your delivery list will be at the back of the packed box lid.
7. From this delivery list you will be able to work out the most cost effective way of getting around all your customers without having to go back and forth.
8. Load boxes into your car and keep the delivery list by the side of you. You will not have to rummage around in the boxes or through all the orders in order to find out which address is next.
9. Not only by having a delivery list in the front of your car will this make your deliveries a lot easier but you will know from the delivery list where in the box a particular order is.
We hope that this method will save you a great deal of time, effort and money. Your time can now be put into having a good old chat with your customers without feeling stressed or in a rush, something that your customers really appreciate.
