Focus on Customer Service

When people ask what do you need to be an good Kleeneze distributor? Our reply is to have a good work ethic followed by a good set of waterproofs and more importantly a sturdy pair of walking boots or shoes. The wear and tear that our footwear gets with this business usually means that I personally buy boots on an annual basis.

Yesterday we went shopping for the very purpose of buying a new set of boots. I tend to go for army issue boots, not only are they comfortable but have good ankle support. We were in Brecon visiting the Army surplus store and as I took the boot of choice to the counter to get the correct size, the sales assistants were deep in conversation. I waited patiently for them to finish their conversation and asked if they had this boot in the correct size. The answer which was rather abrupt and negative has prompted me to write this post.

Is it any wonder that the high street shops are closing down, surely in today’s economic climate people in the service and sales industry should be bending over backwards to give the very best of customer service. This customer “non” service that we received saw us leaving the shop empty handed and rightly so, with me passing comment to the sales people behind the counter as we left “No worries I’ll purchase them online”.

I know from my own personal experience that when I have given poor customer service people stop shopping with us. That’s the weird thing about the British, we are a nation of non complainers and vote with our feet. If you are thinking of starting a home shopping business with Kleeneze the fastest way to being a resounding success is to focus on your customer service skills by providing your customers with the best service around. This route will pay dividends not only short term but long term and will give your competitors something to think about.
